Mr. Haddock provides compliance counsel to AMLG’s mortgage and banking related clients on both federal and state matters.  He has been representing lenders with national reach since 1999 on a wide range of issues related to mortgage lending such as RESPA, TILA, loan originator compensation, HMDA, licensing, lien perfection, title insurance, survey examination, and closing documentation.  In addition to his relationship with AMLG, Mr. Haddock operates Matt Haddock, PLLC which provides mortgage documentation services for Texas loans.  Licensed in Texas, Mr. Haddock is an expert on Texas lending, including home equity rules which were recently revised for the first time in ten years.

Mr. Haddock is also experienced in bank acquisition, capitalization, and receivership.  As head of repudiations on behalf of FDIC for the largest whole bank receivership in recent years, he oversaw the disposition of more than 2500 contracts and assisted in the compromise and settlement of more than $4 Billion in debt.  He has also represented borrowers in negotiations with FDIC following bank closure, which included analysis of debt and collateral procurement of take-out financing, and submission of congressional inquiries, successfully resolving over $100 Million in debt with individual reductions ranging from 10% to 90%.  His work on debt negotiation as an alternative to structured sale was published in the Congressional Record at the invitation of the House Financial Services Committee (Subcommittee on Investigations and Oversight), date of hearing May 16, 2012.
